Lyric Gems

What are some things you've found in the lyrics? Maybe things you've noticed or heard in the music that aren't listed in the lyrics or lyrics that might have double meanings...?

Hhaha, Written somewhere around here is my interpretation of 'Without End', totally wrong i know but does fit, (To me anyway). I find the whole song very vampire-ish, A vampire and his soon to be new bride, and how she will now live without end.:)

@cafeemetalfan: It's certainly told from a very blood-lust point of view. Much like vampires look for tender and fresh prey, I was looking for innocent love. Love without baggage.

So I got a bit distracted from job searching (Oops, I've done it again) and was just reading through some of the lyrics from the Love is Gone album since I left my Zune at home and am away for the weekend... and I seem to have found myself a bit of a conundrum... In the CD jacket, the ending lyrics for 'Dark Holiday' are "On the road to Hell while I'm hating myself", but anywhere I look online it says "On the road to Hell, On the way to my cell."

Not sure if that's a gem or not, but could you clarify which lyric is correct? :(

"All'estremità del gioco, il re ed il pegno vanno indietro nella stessa scatola."

the album liner is certainly correct... the online one is pretty funny...

Yesss! That makes my ego feel better. I didn't think you guys would mess up the liner, but I figured I'd be safe and double check just in case. Thanks mucho!

You can't miss the huge double meaning in Tonight (to fill the hole in you). The whole song sounds like it's about someone who has a huge emotional hole they can't fill with what they are trying to fill it with and only get fleeting relief by overindulging in fast living. And the other hole - put it this way, I don't think going home for coffee and a chat is on either party's mind.

@ChaoticSabre: Trust ye not online lyric websites. Any eedjt can and does publish what they think they hear.

We so need a misheard lyrics thread! I've got a couple of my own where I've had to check the album jacket because I know what my ears are telling me is totally wrong and out of context. There's the line in Without end "An immaculate pairing" and I kept hearing "At you like you are purring". The funny thing is as soon as you read the correct lyric you hear it as clear as day.

Not as bad as me. In MHYH I kept hearing "I'm so afraid that you'll make me come" haha, such filth!

There's also the subtle "I can mend your misery" in the lyrics of Tonight, relating to the older album, yes?

Every Dommin fan is now secretly reading the album booklet back to front at this very point in time.

@A_Schwartz: He has impeccable taste for a 10 year old - he-he! Lets hope he doesn't understand it for another 10 years.
